Let It Snow!

Despite the fact that I was born in the Deep South, I much prefer snow to cold, yucky rain. So, I say: Let it snow! Provided of course that the "men of the house" do all of the snow shoveling.
Of course as we move into the month of December and Christmas season, many of us take time to listen to Christmas songs. I am sure that I am not the only one that loves the song "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!", a song written by lyricist Sammy Cahn and composer Jule Styne in July 1945. It was written in Hollywood, California during a heat wave as Cahn and Styne imagined cooler conditions. Although it is commonly regarded as a Christmas song, the song makes no reference to the holiday in its lyrics. In cause you want to reminisce or sing along, HERE is a link to the official original remastered from Ella Fitzgerald - Ella Wishes You A Swinging Christmas . Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've brought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.
The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
